Keith Hay

 

Raymond “Keith” Hay was born at Deniliquin in New South Wales and graduated from the Deniliquin High School as School Captain.  Keith completed a Diploma of Applied Science in Agriculture at the Wagga Ag College and has been a past Director of the Australian Lucerne Co-operative of which he held this position for two years.

Keith was a Director of Herbs and Spices Australia Co-operative Limited for twelve years from formation up until March 2008. The main crops grown by this organisation were Corianda and Mustard.

Keith was also a Director of Agricultural Finance Co-operative Limited from formation in January 2006 until March 2008.

Keith has been farming all his life in the following enterprises:  dairy, lucerne, seed lucerne, fat lambs, cereal crops and beef cattle.  His property size, which was sold in 2005, incorporated 1000 hectares of irrigation.  Keith is still involved in dairy and beef cattle.

Keith has also been a local representative for Southern Riverina Irrigators (SRI) and was in this role for five years up until 2005.  This organisation is a body representing local irrigators to NSW and federal governments as well as a local water company, Murray Irrigators Limited (MIL).
